Blessing in the form of a piano

Garrett started taking piano lessons a year and a half ago. When he started lessons we weren't ready to buy a piano so instead we bough a keyboard from Sam's Club. As he progressed in his piano playing skills it became apparent that he need a piano. We didn't want to buy a piano just to have to move it to a new house later. After moving, because of two house payments, it wasn't in our budget to buy a piano.

Meanwhile it was getting increasingly hard for Garrett to practice on the keyboard - there weren't enough keys for some of his songs, etc. About a year ago Jared promised Garrett that when he finished his Primer level and then Level One, we would get him a piano. About a week before Garrett finished his level one books it became obvious that we would not be able to fulfill that promise. Right around that time, my visiting teacher who is a beautiful pianist and also teaches piano lessons mentioned she was looking for a new piano and asked if we would be interested in her piano if she found a new one. I told her we might be. I got an email from her later saying she had found a new piano and that if we wanted hers, it was ours - for free! Sold! It's a 95 year old piano that they bought 10 years ago for $150 so they were more than happy for someone to take it off their hands and we were more than happy to give it a new home.

I felt very strongly at the time that this was a direct blessing from Heavenly Father. He couldn't force anyone to buy our house. But he reminded me that he was mindful of our family by sending us this beautiful blessing in the form of a hand me down piano. We feel tremendously blessed!
