The pumping gas task was accomplished without incident. Feeling my confidence rise at accomplishing this feat, I decided to entertain the kids with a car wash. They LOVE the car wash. And you can't get much more harmless than a car wash, right?! Right!
We pull into the car wash and the kids are in heaven! They dodge the spray as it hits the window, pretending that it is an accomplishment to not get wet. We get to their favorite part, the wax! It's rainbow colors and the kids like to pretend someone is dumping sorbet on the car. Just as the arm of the car wash is making its way down the car to rinse off the wax, Brendan decides to make this little adventure a little more...... adventurous! Yes! You guessed it! He rolled down the window. But not only did he roll down his window, he kept his finger on the button so I couldn't get the window back up. Here I am, sitting in the front seat, watching the arm inch closer and closer to the open window, hitting the up button over and over again with no result, Jaws music playing over the radio (Or was it Psycho music, I forget. Just think horror movie!), spinning in the seat watching the kids faces register the coming doom! And BOOM! Just like in a bad movie, water gushes in the car, soaking everyone and everything in sight. The water finally gets Brendan to move his hand and my constant pushing of the up button meets with success. The window rolls up about 10 seconds too late. Cue crying. Everyone crying! Brendan and Ashtyn got the worst of it but evidently the waxy water killed Preston's Sonic slush and the mourning of said slush was long and painful.
Turns out, it is quite an accomplishment to not get wet in a car wash.
Note to self: Lock all windows before entering car wash, or better yet, avoid leaving the house at all cost!
As a side note, there was a car behind us the whole time and I fully expect to find my family on YouTube in the near future.
And yes, the kids were still in their jammies. No judging please!
I'm laughing soooo hard! I might cough up a lung! Never a dull moment. Bet you hadn't planned on getting the inside of your car washed had you?! LOL LOL LOL (cough cough) LOL LOL!
